Do you have spare time on your hands?
Are you interested in helping the younger generation develop their life shills?
Do you want to be part of National Voluntary Youth Organisation sponsored by the Army?

If Your Answer is YES...

WE NEED YOU !!!

OUR ADULTS:

  • Aged from 18 to 55 Male and Female.

  • They come from all backgrounds.

  • No former Military service required.

  • You do not need to be athletic or physically fit.

  • We are primarily a Youth Organisation and not a Pre-Service Organisation.

  • We do not actively recruit for the services.

  • All Adults start as Potential Instructors then gain promotion by attending qualifying courses to Senior Non-Commissioned Officers with the possibility of gaining the Queens Commission. (TA Type B with no deployment commitment)

  • All Adults can received a maximum of 28 days pay per year plus travelling allowance.

  • This can be in the region of £1,300 per year.

  • The commitment is one night a week for which you are not paid, except for travel costs, and approximately six weekends a year.

  • We also run a 14 day Annual Camp each August at which we would expect all adults to attend.

  • There is a formal contract of employment which has a 28 day notification of leaving the cadet force but in practice if you wish you can leave immediately.

  • All uniforms are issued free of charge and at weekends all food and accommodation is also free.

  • There are many courses available to adults. These include all types of Adventure Training, First Aid, Military Skills and you may have the opportunity to travel abroad.

Summer Camp 2006

Browndown Army Camp Gosport was this year's location for the Annual Camp when over 180 Cadets from Cornwall spent two weeks fulfilling a wide and varying programme of activities.
